Remove the 4 spark coil units from the coil box. Loosen an upper and a lower screw on each of the 4 spark coil units and place the short jumper wire with the two forked lugs (supplied) on each of the 4 spark coil units. Retighten the screws. This jumps out the vibrating contacts but preserves their adjustment for easy conversion back to the original. They will maintain a sound similar to the original. This also jumps out the internal capacitor, which is prone to failure due to age. Only the coil windings need be good for proper operation of the Master Vibrator. Compared to the capacitor and vibrating contact adjustment, the coil windings are much less likely to fail.
Remove the ignition wire that connects to the common terminal of the coil box (this is the wire that connects to the bottom contact of each of the 4 spark coil units) and connect it to the large, screw terminal on the Master Vibrator circuit board (terminal “P”).
Connect the red wire that is already attached to the circuit board to the common terminal of the coil box (terminal “C”).
Connect the longer, gray wire that is already attached to the circuit board to a convenient ground point on the engine or chassis of the vehicle. Clean off any paint or rust at this point to secure a good ground connection (terminal “G”).
Mount the circuit board as desired. This completes the Master Vibrator installation. Note that a reverse of this procedure will put your Ford Model T back as original.
